My fiance sent me this photo with the subject line, “I painted that!!!”
I’m a little stunned. I knew he could draw/paint, but not like that. Consider me impressed.
Mygazines

Mygazines
You can read scans of all sorts of magazines for free at Mygazines. The scans are uploaded by other users of the site. Magazine publishers are understandably upset. I liked this bit from the press release announcing the site:
The mygazines concept is simple, essentially it allows its members to share magazines in the same manner a doctors’ office, law firm, libraries, and hair salons would with their clients every day.(via waxy)

This is an epic find. Love it.
I should start a blog of someone else’s life. It’ll prepare me for writing that epic biography of Big Brother 6’s Maxwell.
This is from the excellent Pearls Before Swine
Pearls Before Swine is indeed excellent and easily my favorite of all comic strips.
Naps, naps, the magical fruit.
Slept for 10 hours last night.
Napped for 3 and a half hours today.
My only redeeming quality out of all this laziness was that I did a quick bike ride—about 4 miles worth. Getting my legs back!
On a final note, Team Frangry!
My father and I biked along the Mount Vernon Trail (which parallels the George Washington Memorial Parkway and the Potomac). It was lovely weather, not overly crowded and we ate a picnic by the river. It’s nice to see family every now and again when they can get up to DC.
This lovely photo of the trail was taken by Pablo Mercado.
Uh, that's actually kinda of stalker-ish.
Someone googled my name yesterday and spent 4 hours on 169 pages of my Tumblr site jaclynwile.com.
I find this alarming because, well, I’m not interesting enough for 4 hours of anyone’s time. Unless you’re a stalker, and then 4 hours just zips right by, doesn’t it?
BTW, my outfit today (see photo below with scooter) was inspired by a girl I saw in our hotel yesterday wearing a shirt belted over a short denim skirt (I am a total fashion copy cat) and it was also inspired by Jackie who wears the cutest outfits that are generally not uber expensive (click on her name to see descriptions of these outfits and what a complete bargain shopper she is!). I have never been very good at dressing on a budget but today I am wearing a $12.99 shirt from H&M. It’s a start. Thanks for getting me on the road to a healthier bank balance!
I’m a firm believer that anyone can dress well, no matter the budget. Most of the outfits I wear—while they are not particularly avant-garde or the like—cost me about $30-40 total. Some days it’s a little more than that, some days it’s a lot less. Occasionally I’ll wear an outfit that cost me less than $15 to buy.
It’s important for me to live inside my means, so I find ways to do that and still look decent…I hope! Ha.
